DACA comes to an end under Trump
Jeff Sessions officially announced on September 5, 2017 that the current administration would no longer support DACA and that they will be winding down the program.
What does that mean if you have recently applied for DACA? If you application was received by USCIS before the September 5, 2017 termination date, your application will still be processed and you may still be granted a work permit for up to two years.
What if your DACA is going to expire? The administration has granted a grace period to renew your work permit, if your work permit would expire between September 5, 2017- and March 5, 2018 you can renew your work permit and be granted the two year renewal.
If you have questions about DACA don’t hesitate to ask, many of the answers are found on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s website frequently asked questions: Rescission of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
